Stained Glass Paper Collage

Service Description

Students will use the Gelli plate decorative papers made in the INTRODUCTION TO GELLI PLATE class to create a beautiful collage reminiscent of a stained-glass window. During this class the teacher will demonstrate and guide the production of a drawing appropriate for this project, demonstrate and assist in the creation of the paper stencil that will serve as the framework for the project, and demonstrate the steps to cutting out and attaching the paper shapes that will be attached to the stencil to complete the project. Students who did not take the Gelli plate class may being such paper as wallpaper, wrapping papers and other collage papers in a variety of designs and colors. What's included: Cardstock for stencil, transfer paper, cutting mats, x-acto knives Student's should bring: Glue sticks, pencils, black sharpies (2 or 3) rulers, and a planning drawing for their project. The planning drawing should be 8x10 inches, vertical or horizontal. It can be a landscape, interior picture, still life, or a line drawing of their favorite art masterpiece. Any details should also be drawn in pencil. Do not add color! It is better to have too much detail than not enough, The teacher will bring some appropriate drawing to share with those people who couldn’t make their own.
