Service Description

Creating Paint from Fungi Combine art and science to create your own watercolor palette using mushrooms. Students will learn to create inks and watercolor paints from a variety of mushrooms. Students will begin by creating a mushroom dye from each mushroom that will be used to create ink and a lake pigment that can then be used to create watercolor paint. The class will include a discussion of best practices for use, storage and light-fastness of their mushroom based art supplies. Each student will leave with 5-6 pans of watercolor paint and small bottles of ink. Flower Power Combine art and science to create your own watercolor palette using flowers. Students will learn to create inks and watercolor paints from a variety of flowers. Students will begin by creating a botanical dye from each flower that will be used to create ink and a lake pigment that can then be used to create watercolor paint. The class will include a discussion of best practices for use, storage and light-fastness of their floral based art supplies. Each student will leave with 5-6 pans of watercolor paint and small bottles of ink.
